Mike Mike Kear Looking at the summer 100. Rules state we must complete a 50M first in the same year. Does running 50M in a time event count and if so, does it have to be completed before we register or just before the summer race? Thank you.

Bartholomew Muzzin When I signed up for the summer 2 years ago, the only ultra I had done was Phily 100, and I completed 67 miles of it (and got partial credit) - but nobody asked for my 'qualifying' race. I would assume that if you can 50+ in a 12h, that would be sufficient. I'm sure they just want to make sure people are serious, and have a snowball's chance of actually completing the beast :). Of course, I do not speak for the race directors, although, they don't seem to be monitoring this forum - they do seem to be answering questions on the FB page though - http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Beast-of-Burden-100-50-Miler-Ultra-Marathon/211175236418?fref=ts
