Race Description
Experience Gulf Coast ultra running at its friendliest and most achievable venue. The 14th Wildcat Ultramarathon takes place at the Escambia County Equestrian Center—a 178-acre park with wide, runnable paths and plenty of open space for crews and spectators. Race limited to 250 participants. All race distances start at 6:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 4. This is a USA Track & Field–sanctioned and insured event (Event License ID: #161780)
Why Wildcat?
• Ideal “first” 100-mile or 100K: A repeatable 2.5-mile loop of mostly grass and dirt with minimal elevation gain/loss helps you lock into a rhythm, see your crew often, and manage nutrition and pacing with confidence.
• Proven course pedigree: This loop has hosted the FHSAA Cross Country 2A District and Regional Championships, Gulf Coast Stampede, and Esca-Rosa Panhandle Championships—fast footing, clean turns, and clear markings.
• Community and support: The loop format creates a festival atmosphere—consistent access to your gear, frequent check-ins with volunteers, and encouragement every lap.
What to expect:
• Terrain: Primarily grass and hard-packed dirt with gentle rollers; no technical sections.
• Weather: The Florida Panhandle is hot and humid this time of year—train and race with heat in mind.
• Logistics: Easy crew access and a centralized staging area make planning simple for runners and supporters alike.
Ready to chase big goals with great people on a confidence-building course? Join us at Wildcat and make your finish line happen.

Timing
We will provide chip timing for all events at the 14th Wildcat Ultras via MCM timing and results. We will also have 'live' runner tracking and results online throughout the weekend.
Pacers
Pacers are allowed after the halfway point of your race (15 miles for the 50k, 25 miles for the 50 miler, 30 miles for the 100k and 50 miles for the 100 mile) or sunset, whichever is earlier.
Aid Station
There will be a fully stocked aid station located just past the Start/Finish line of the loop at the concession stand. We work hard to provide a wide variety of food, fluids, and other options throughout the race so runners have plenty to choose from as the miles add up.
The aid station will include plain M&M’s, watermelon, bacon, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches on white bread, avocado wraps, turkey and avocado wraps, mandarin oranges, bananas, pickles, cucumbers, gummy bears, red potatoes with individual salt packets available upon request, chocolate and vanilla creme cookies, animal crackers, pretzel sticks, plain wavy potato chips, Oreos, Twizzlers, Starburst, Otter ice pops, white rice, mashed potatoes, and vegan lentil soup. Hot food options will include chicken ramen noodles, quesadillas, grilled cheese sandwiches, and vegetable broth. Pizza will be served for dinner on Saturday night. Danishes will be available Saturday morning, and bacon and scrambled eggs will be available Sunday morning upon request.
Drink options will include water, Tailwind, Coke, Mountain Dew, Ginger Ale, and coffee, with cream and sugar available upon request. Salt tablets and mustard will also be available.
While we provide a large selection of food and drinks, individual preferences and nutritional needs vary considerably during an ultramarathon. If there is something you absolutely must have during your race, please bring it with you. Do not rely on the aid station for any specific item that is essential to your personal nutrition plan.
Ice will be provided for runners only and can be used for water bottles, hats, buffs, and other runner needs. We will not provide aid-station ice for crews, pacers, spectators, or other members of your party. If your crew needs ice, there are multiple convenience stores in the surrounding area where it can be purchased.
Packet Pick Up
We will start packet pick-up on Friday at 4:30pm and it will end at 5:00pm, and on race day (Saturday) morning starting at 5:00am at the Escambia Equestrian Center.
THERE IS RACE DAY REGISTRATION THIS YEAR FOR AN ADDITIONAL FEE, we accept cash, check and Venmo.
Photography
We are excited to announce that Calvin Galace with 'Who is Rufio Rex' will be back again this year as our official photographer. He will be providing all runners with free pictures from the race following the conclusion of the event.
