The details
Description
The course
travels through the hills just above Coyote Lake. It features rolling hills through the dried
grasses of the Santa Clara Valley. The Half
Marathon is a single loop while the Marathon is two of the same loop. The 10k is a smaller loop along parts of the Half
Marathon loop. The half and full
marathon have about 3 miles of single track and 10 miles of well groomed fire
roads. The 5k is an out and back which
includes a paved two mile loop to the finish.
Most of the run is through cattle grazing area so you will see many cows
and may even be held up by a few if they decide to cross the trail in front of
you. Not to worry though, they are
generally pretty mellow so yelling and waving your arms usually gets them
mooovin. Haha.
The fine print.
As usual all
runner that register on or before May 10th will receive a great tech tee. All runners will be able to enjoy a post race
beer featuring Strike Brewing as well as the food you come to expect from a
trail race. There will be no awards
given for any distance but there will be finishers medals for all finishers.
Go to www.westcoasttrailruns.com for the trail map and elevation profile.
The race
starts and finishes at the Harvey Bear entrance on San Martin Ave., about a
mile east of the 101 . There will be an
emergency response team present in the event of an injury. Aid stations every 3 to 3.5 miles but please
carry water if needed. The race will be
run rain or shine and in the event of a race cancellation, your entry fee will
be applied to the rescheduled race.
There will be no refunds. There
is plenty of free parking. Go to the
event website for more details.
