Description
An urban ultra – fat ass style (minimal support)–to start the year off with a bang. There will be bibs, minimal swag, some really nice volunteers, and a bit of aid station support. But no bands, no cheer leaders, no crowds, no entry fee, no t-shirts, no timing chips, no roots and rocks, and hopefully no worries. We’re here to have a good time!
The course is a lighted, fairly flat, paved, eight foot wide greenway. It meanders along the Pistol Creek (hence the name for the event), through Maryville, by several small bodies of water, and over to Alcoa’s Springbrook Park. It is a linear route approximately 8 miles long (not including side trails). We’ll start a bit south of center and run north about 6 miles and return to the start; then go south 2 or so miles and return back to start. This way, you will go by the start/finish and your vehicle every 4-12+/- miles and can more easily provide your own support as needed. We plan to have an aid station at the start finish and another one almost at the end of the 6 mile north section. This means you'll pass an AS every 3-5 +/- miles. How easy is that?!
There will be some awesome finishers awards specific to each distance. (Of course only one per finisher.) Check out our website for all the details and chatter. Then get your stuff together to come join us!
