COURSE UPDATE: Be advised that there will be snow and ice on the course this year! Consider wearing lugged trail running shoes and/or traction devices. Road running shoes alone may be difficult to run in on some of the slippery sections. A large portion of the course will of course be on sand. The forecast is also calling for cold temperatures and wind chills, please dress accordingly.
Test your 2013 resolutions on this 5 kilometer race along the pristine sands of Scarborough State Beach. The course is fast and flat, but with a few tricky spots to keep your attention. Runners will cross open grass, sandy beach, and single track trail while negotiating the 3.1 mile course that stretches from Scarborough Beach to Black Point Fishing Area. Beautiful ocean views. Race is at low tide so there will be plenty of packed sand to run on.
Open to all ages. No dogs. No strollers. Headphones strongly discouraged.
Food drive: Please remember to bring two non-perishable food or household items per racer to the race. These goods will be passed on to The Jonnycake Center of Peace Dale. Thanks for your help!
