Welcome to Machete Trail Madness, home of the toughest Ultramarathons in the USA and why we allow the longest cut off times of any Ultras out there. Come challenge yourself, very technical terrain and soul crushing climbs, but awesome views worth the effort. If you want an easy race to PR, this is definitely not the place, but it is many people's favorite ultra.

Our community is the best, friendly and supportive, where your family can go camping to support you and enjoy a week at the Lake. MUST register by 04/01/2026 to ensure you receive medal and participant shirt, but the race will sellout well before that, likely in the first 90 days.

Race Details
DISTANCES: 10k, 50k, and 100k.
COURSE: 50K Course:10 Mile Loop with 2,300 feet of elevation gain per lap, 3 times. 100k Course: 20-mile course around the entire Lake,3 times. This course has 4,400 feet of elevation gain per lap.
RACE STARTS: All distances start Saturday 4/25/26 at 6:00 AM.
CUT-OFF TIMES: 15 Hours for 50k, 30 Hours for 100k
AID STATIONS: Start and Finish line is your transition area where you can setup and have what YOU need, in addition to that we have Full Aid Stations at mile 6 for 50k runners, and aid stations at mile 8 and 12.8 for 100k runners.
CAMPING: Campground will be available Friday after 12:00 PM, checkout Monday by 11:00 AM. Come and enjoy the beautiful views of the Lake and surrounding mountains. Select camping at no additional cost to you during your registration, this perk alone is worth the registration. This is Group Tent Campground, no trailers or hookups.
The Machete Madness Experience: This is a unique experience as it is more of a mental challenge due to the course format as it is very easy to finish a loop and quit, but our motto is Never Give Up so we will do anything we can to support you so you can get it done. You get to interact more with other runners since you are doing laps and running with each other, definitely a more interactive experience as you get to encourage and push each other to the finish line, your family and friends also gets to see you more often and you can pack lighter as you will have the chance to reload your nutrition and hydration at each lap you complete since the race course loops around into the Campgroup every lap.
More bang for your bucks: The FREE camping is worth the registration fee and your family can join you, not just the participant, in addition we have free professional photos at no additional cost to you! By far the most bang for your buck of any race out there, the Machete Madness Experience, not just a race. Location: This is the link to the exact location to Group Picnic, make sure you drive in from the Morene Valley entrance and not via Ramona Express Way. Group Picnic C is where the event camping is located, same as the start line and transition area.
