Loon Mountain Race

Over the years the Loon Mountain Race has developed quite a following. The reputation as one of the country’s toughest mountain races is due in large part to the kilometer ascent of North Peak via the black diamond trail known as Upper Walking Boss. ‘The Boss’, as it’s affectionately known, is roughly a kilometer of grassy slope with angles that exceed a dizzying 40% grade!

Down the Mountain

How do we get down the mountain?
Just like in previous years the Gondola is an option. If you have done this race before, you know that the gondola line is long....and riding in a gondola with 3 other sweaty runners isn't a blast. So this year we will be marking the Service Road. If you would like a 1.5 mile run down a dirt road after the race this is now another option. Please stay off the Downhill mtn bike trails and yield to Mountain bikes

Parking

The Lot opens at 6am. There will be Loon Mountain Resort employees directing participants on where to park.
