Welcome to the inaugural Reign The Roost Elevation Run!
Do you remember what it was like? The feeling of being the “king/queen of the hill” as a child. Step back in time with Reign The Roost, Dolorosa Race Co’s fall 2024 ultrarunning event on September 14, 2024. Reminiscent of playing king or queen of the hill, this race challenges participants to conquer The Roost—as many times as possible within a specific time frame. Runners will choose from a range of trails to reach the top, but make no mistake, this race will be tough. It demands grit, strategy, and endurance. The terrain and relentless ascents will put even the toughest mindset to the test. Whether you’re a seasoned trail runner seeking a new challenge or a newcomer wanting to push yourself to the limits, Reign The Roost promises an unforgettable experience! Registration
Online registration closes on 9/12/2024 at 11:59pm, however, to guarantee your race shirt, please sign up before 9/1/2024. Day-of registration will be on a first-come basis until the race limit is reached. The race is capped at 70 runners. If you are interested in volunteering, please let us know.
Packet Pickup
Packet pickup will be on Friday, September 13th from 6:00-7:00PM, at the venue! If you are unable to make it for packet pick up on Friday, you may pick up your packet from 6:00-6:45AM on the morning of the race.
Shirts, Awards, Weather & Cutoffs
The race shirt will be a short sleeve tri-blend shirt and will include our 2024 race logo!
Finisher awards will be given for the following elevation goals:
- 3 hour event. 2,000', 3,000', 5,000' and will be wooden medals
- 6 hour event. 3,000', 4,000', 6,000'
The winner of each event (3-hour male and female, 6-hour male and female) will receive their reward and be crowned "Ruler of the Roost"
In the event of severe weather, we will delay the start as necessary to avoid lightning. If severe weather threatens the entire day and does not appear to let up, we may be forced to cancel. If we are forced to cancel, 9/21 will serve as the back-up date for the race.
Average Temperatures throughout April for Dalton: Low 60F, High: 81F, sounds great, right?!
The cut-off will be the 3-hour and 6-hour mark. Whatever elevation you have accumulated during your specific time period, will be your total.
There are no refunds after 7/31/2024, transferring your registration to a different runner is allowed on a case-by-case basis after 7/31 and there is no guarantee of shirt size availability for the transferee. We do not mail shirts or medals to participants unable to make the event.

Clean Water Donation
A portion of each race registration will be donated to AMG International to provide water filtration services to those who do not have access to clean water. It is our goal to provide 100 people with access to clean water through this event! Any donation you would like to make beyond your race registration will be given directly to AMG international to help fight water crisis around the world.
