Wissahickon Valley park is the crown jewel of the Philadelphia park system. It is over 2000 acres is size and features more than 50 miles of trails. The park combines natural beauty and history, with many historic buildings and bridges located within the park. Philadelphia trail runners have embraced the park for many years for their training runs, due to its natural beauty and extensive trail network, but there hasn't been a long distance trail race in recent memory. Let's celebrate Philadelphia trails by running the Philadelphia Trail (Half)Marathon at the Wissahickon Valley Park. Over 600 runners have registered for the race in the past 2 years, and we are expecting a large field for the return to Wissahickon Valley. We are looking forward seeing you at the starting line in 2023

There will be no expo. Bibs and swag pickup on raceday only.

We reserve the right to cancel or postpone the race due to weather, acts of God or other reasons outside of the control of Uberendurancesports. No unauthorized bib transfers, please contact Rd at Stephanweiss@comcast.net to find out if and how you can transfer your bib.

Awards:

Every finisher will receive an awesome Philadelphia themed finisher medal.
Trophies for Top 3 overall and Top 5 age group 29 & under, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 & Top 3 60 plus

Time Limit:

Every runner has to be finished by 4pm. This makes the 13.1 super hiker friendly, and one should be able to power hike the marathon within the 8 hour time limit as well.

Aid Stations:

Aid station are spaced between 3 and 4 miles apart.

Trail runners usually carry a bottle to keep hydrated between aid stations. Gatorade and water will be available at all the aid stations. There will be the usual trail fare and carbs to keep you fueled at the race (bring your own gels, if you rely on them).

Timing:

This race will be chiptimed by 2Lraceservices.

Post Race Party

Awards will be given out as you cross the finish line. We will have live music at the finish and a pizza party.

Course:

The 13.1 course will be 90% plus single track trail at the Wissahickon. The exact layout is posted on our website. Many rolling hills and some technical sections with rocks and roots. Need to be a bit gritty to get this done :-).
