Valley Trail Series

Whether running the trails is a new challenge or a past time you just want to keep through 2023, use our winter race as a motivator as we prepare for upcoming spring weather! We encourage you to bring friends, and family so you can all get started off on the right foot!

Valley Trail Series is known for our bare bones approach to trail races, our strong sense of community and for making running fun again by bringing it back to the basics. We host trail races in Northern New Jersey, for anyone looking to join a community, have fun and get out in nature. Ideal for veterans and rookies alike, our races connect you with community and nature so you can conquer the extra-mile- both on and off the trails.

Course Description

Tucked in the woodlands of the Palisades, the Alpine Scout Camp provides miles of diverse and technical trails for novice and veteran runners alike—including both wide and single-track trails, hills, gravel, mud puddles and more. With varied natural terrain a winter race allows for some good lookout points along these trails.

THERE WILL BE NO AID STATION ON COURSE. Please be sure to bring your own means of hydration and fuel for on the course if you believe you will need it. And as always on the trail, please pack out any of your trash.

Race Day

Check In: Starts at 7:30am for all racers. We encourage each runner to check in at least 30 mins prior to your scheduled race time. At this time no masks are necessary for outdoor events. But we ask that you please be prepared with one as guidelines are constantly changing.
Race Day registration will be an additional $5 added to each of the final race prices. (ie: 4Mile- $35; 6Mile- $45; 12 Mile- $50)
4 mile- One Loop. Start Time 9:15am
6 mile- One Loop. Start time 9:00am
12 mile- Two loops. Start Time 8:30am
There will be an aid station and a bathroom at the Start/Finish of the course. There will NOT be an aid station on the course, so please be sure to bring your own means of hydration and fuel for on the course if you believe you will need it. And as always on the trail, please pack out any of your trash.

Prizes and Race Swag

Race swag is grab bag style. You will have options to choose from on race day!
The top three males and females in each distance will be awarded discounted future races with us. (Discounted percentages based off the amount of the race won by the runner) When you're ready to register for the next race, just email us, and we'll hook you up!
1st Place- 100% discount
2nd Place- 75% discount
3rd Place- 50% discount
**All discounts are based on the price of the race you registered for and are good for use up until 1 year.** ie: 1st place for the 4M race will be a $35 discount for any future races within a year of your winning race.
