Race Information

Hey there, adventure seeker! I've got some chilly and exciting news for you. Ever thought about conquering a race that takes you through stunning winter landscapes and scenic spots? Well, get ready to lace up those running shoes for the Southern Freeze 2024 races!

Picture this: a route that runs along the beautiful Columbus, GA and Phenix City, AL Riverwalk, offering you picturesque views of the Chattahoochee River. And don't worry about the cold – this course showcases the charm of the town even in winter. You'll get to witness the longest urban whitewater course in the world, soak in the sights of Columbus State University, The National Infantry Museum, and Golden Park. It's like a sightseeing tour with a fitness twist!

Now, here's the scoop: you've got two awesome options to choose from. You can sign up for the Southern Freeze races to experience the cold-weather charm of the town. Or, if you're feeling extra adventurous, go for the Freeze and Fry combo – this gets you into both the winter and summer races in Columbus. And guess what? Going for the Freeze and Fry not only gets you a sweet deal on both races but also earns you a special award for tackling the challenge of both seasons.

Now, let's talk details. If you're all about the Freeze and Fry 50k, you're in for both the January and August 25k races, totaling to 50k of running goodness. Opt for the FF100k, and you'll be rocking both the January and August 50k races. And for the true warriors out there, the FF100 mile includes the January and August 50 mile runs – that's some serious mileage, my friend!

And can we talk about the aid stations? They're a food lover's dream! Think full southern fare – chicken and dumplings, sweet tea, instant mashed potatoes, grilled cheese, hot ham and cheese, chips, fruit, cookies, and more mouthwatering treats. Hydration? Covered. You'll find Coke, water, and CeraSport waiting for you at each aid station.

Now, if you're worried about time, no sweat! Generous cutoff times are in place – you've got 10 hours for the 50k and 14 hours for the 50 mile run. So whether you're a seasoned ultramarathoner or just getting started, there's room for everyone to tackle this challenge.
