Course Description

Southern Freeze 2023 is a 50 mile, 50K, and 25K race. The course runs along the Columbus, GA and Phenix City, AL Riverwalk, the Chattahoochee River, as well as through parts of Uptown Columbus. This scenic route will allow you to experience: The longest urban whitewater course in the world, as well as views of Columbus State University, The National Infantry Museum, and Golden Park.

This is a seriously beautiful town and race course.

Register for the Southern Freeze races, which will give you a colder tour of the town, or register for the Freeze and Fry which will cover both the winter and summer tour of Columbus, The Freeze and Fry will basically give you a price break on both seasons races and will also come with a special award for running both races.

Aid stations are stocked with full southern fare, including chicken and dumplings and sweet tea, as well as all of your other ultramarathon favorites.

Generous cutoff times are 10 hours for the 50k and 14 hours for the 50 mile run.

Packet Pickup is 6am at Midland Elementary parking lot.

All runners will receive a finishers medal, a T-shirt, and a goodie back full of warm and cozy things. You are going to need them!
