Calling all Princesses and Princes :
Welcome to the gateway of CT running and a great ultra trail experience! The 7th running of this 6 hour ultra, will be EPIC. A great race course for beginners, too. Located in the Town of Stratford, which is very fortunate indeed, to be one of the few towns in the nation to have its very own forest. The Ultra run will last 6 hours from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm. All runners, joggers, hikers and walkers are invited to participate in this very friendly event, in fact have some friends ragister and make a day of it; do as many miles or hours, as you wish. Experience on a trail is mandatory for safety, so a little practice is warranted. There will be an award for 1st to 5th overall, with (fastest) most miles completed. There is an Ultra medal for anyone participating for 4 hours or more. You will travel over a single and double track trails with some elevation on a circuit of 2.3 miles and elevation of 191 feet per loop. Trail training with some hill work will aid in relatively fast times for this trail ultra. Bib pickup will begin at 7am, race start 8:30am, please do not enter the forest before 6:45am. Pizza should be about noon (grab a slice to go); H20, endurance drinks, soda, chips and gels all day. You must be at least 18 years of age or with a parental signed waiver for 18 and under.
Lastly, a portion of the proceeds will include the Roosevelt Forest Commission, Veteran's Museum, Stratford Library and others. Also, many thanks to the "paid" Volunteers for all thier time and effort; well worth the price in the support of the entrants. They and I thank you for registering.
A very important thing to note is this is limited to only 50 participants, so register early and save to reserve your spot to be "enchanted" by the forest Gnomes and Unicorns, our motto: "Costumes Optional, Smiles are Not".
