Wawayanda Trail Fest!
Wawayanda Trail Fest is back again but in the spring! With miles (not an exaggeration) of rhododendron tunnels, marsh bridges and both gravel road and single track! Just about the most diverse course as we could find.
Course
The course winds through the hills of Northern Jersey with only 2 road crossings, and they are both IN THE PARK! The full loop is unique 18+ miles of unique trail.
Half Marathon route = 1 loop of the south trails (~13 Miles)
50K route = Full Loop (~18miles) + 1 south trails loop (~13 Miles)
50 Mile route = Full Loop x 2 (~18miles x 2) + 1 south trails loop (~13 Miles)
COURSE ROUTES: Can be found on our Wawayanda PLOTAROUTE COLLECTION. Toggle on the Course you'd like to see and use the upper right MENU option for MORE INFO, elevation, gps downloads and more.
Aid Stations
There are 3 aid stations: Maraschino, Dam Straight and BaseCamp.
- Maraschino is approx 7miles into the South Loop. NO crews, spectators or drop bags
- Dam Straight is only a .25 mile walk from the Main Event / Start & Finish. Great spot for Crews, Spectators and Drop Bags
- Base Camp will be feet from the Start/Finish & Parking Area. The most convenient for crew/pacers/spectators
The Half will have 1 aid station, Maraschino (plus a quick pass of Dam Straight .25 before the finish)
The 50K will visit 5 Aid Stations (including a quick pass of Dam Straight .25 before the finish)
The 50 Mile will visit 8 Aid Stations (including a quick pass of Dam Straight .25 before the finish)
We take pride in our aid stations and can get you what you need. And we take requests when you register! Our growing community of amazing volunteers and staff will be ready for you. Skratch is typically our electrolyte hydration. We'll have a lot of AS staples, like fruit, pb&j, potatoes, pretzels, chips, and some candy. And we often throw in some broth, bacon, bean quesadillas and pierogies. Vegan options available in food, gels, starches and more.
Crew / Pacers / Spectators
This is a great race for racers, crew, pacers, spectators that have only 1 car! No shuttling or drop-offs involved. Everything is centered around the main event site, but the miles are not too repetitive with an 18mile loop!
50K Pacers are allowed to start with their racers at mile 18. The 50 Mile pacers can start with your racer at mile 31 or 36. There are no pacers allowed for the half marathon.
Crews are allowed at both Dam Straight and BaseCamp (NOT at Maraschino) Main Event Aid Station will be clearly marked and crews assisting racers will need to help in the designated area. Dam Straight is just a .25 mile walk from the Main Event, so crews and spectators can meet their racer in this location as well. No vehicles needed.
