These days it get's harder every year to find a place that allows trail races. Many county parks either ask for a sizable fees or ban trail races altogether, for reasons that I personally don't agree with. Just recently the Mudfest 15k , one of the biggest trail races on the east coast had to alter the course, because runners were no longer allowed to run in a particular county park and the JFK 50 miler, the biggest ultra in the country now is facing problems on the AT after running the race there for 50 years. Blue Marsh and the Army Cops of Engineers welcomed us for many years in their park, they do not charge us a fee , and they very much encourage the use of the trail system there. They , like many other government funded operations have seen budget cuts in recent years, and certainly would appreciate a small donation. You are not obligated to donate, but we certainly appreciate it. Every little bit helps.
