Big Chief 50K - July 16, 2023
The Big Chief 50K trail race is a loop course on a mix of single track and fire road in the scenic forests between Lake Tahoe and Truckee. You will run through mighty trees, take in breathtaking views and conquer rocky summits on your journey. The course travels between 6000 - 7500 feet of elevation and you will gain approximately 4300 feet during the run. The race starts and finishes in the Village at Northstar Resort in Truckee, CA.
Runners will be supported by 5 aid stations on the course with water, Electrolyte beverage, fruit and salty snacks. At the finish, you will be rewarded with cold beverages, including beer, pizza, snacks, and a finisher medal. All participants will also receive a technical race shirt.
The cut off time for official finishers is 9 hours but we do our best to accommodate everyone that wants to finish. Medical support will be provided on course and at the finish. The race takes place the day after the Tahoe Trail 100K Mountain Bike Race and follows roughly the same course with a few adjustments.
Student/Senior Pricing
Student: 25 and under by race date and must present student ID at registration
Senior: 65 and over by race date
Please be prepared to show ID at registration if you qualify for a reduced price
Guaranteed Shirt Cut Off Date - July 8th
You must register by July 8th to guarantee a race shirt. If you register after July 8th we will do our best to provide you with a race shirt but you will not be guaranteed a specific size.

Cancellations/Rollovers
We have a strict no-refund policy for this event. But you may cancel and rollover 75% of what you paid towards another Tahoe Trail Running event ONLY within 10 days of the race.
You can do this by logging on to your member account on UltraSignUp, selecting the event and canceling your entry.
All rollovers are valid for one calendar year from the date of your cancellation.
We will make exceptions to the 10-day cancellation window for active military, first responder or wildland firefighters only with deployment conflicts.
