2026 Announcement

We’ve had the “First year”, the COVID “not-year” (It would have been the snow year!), the “Hot year”, and the “Mud year”. Next year will be The Last One. Some of you were there for some and some of you were there for many - all of you are considered part of our Riverlands Family and what made this race possible. From welcoming you to the race, to answering your questions (some more than others ;) to following your progress on every lap, to sharing tears with you at the finish line, we are honored. It is truly a labor of love and we have put everything into this race for the past 9 years. We are ending it as we began - with a lot of thought and consideration. Riverlands was an idea hatched on a long run and we’re so proud of what it became. Riverlands will end with us; We are not looking to pass it to someone else and we are not looking to change anything to keep it going. We appreciate and are so grateful for all the love it’s gotten over the years, but it’s time to be done. It’s also time to throw one more party and we hope you’ll join us. It’s going to be a good one.

Scout and Squirrel

P.S. Stay tuned for news about a new ultra in Maine...it will be Bear-y challenging…

Relay

We are only having 10 teams this year to make room for more solo runners. There is no registration for the relay. It was by invitation. The teams invited have a long history with the race and it seemed right to have them run the final race. They have all accepted. Sorry for any disappointment.

Course Description

Welcome to Maine’s first and only 100 mile trail race, the Riverlands 100! Solo runners will do 4 laps of a beautiful 25-mile out-and-back trail at the Androscoggin Riverlands State Park in Turner, ME. The course is just over half ATV trail that has a little of everything: river views of the Androscoggin (listen for loons!), dense forest, ups and downs, rocks and roots and hopefully some good mud. The rest is sweet single track, the best Maine offers. Our race is difficult, much more than the elevation profile would indicate. There is really no stretch where you can relax. That said, an experienced utrarunner can turn in a fast time. And first time 100 milers who finish can feel confident taking on any 100.

Our relay teams have 5 members. Each relay runner must complete a 20-mile section. The relay teams are on the ATV trail for 80% of their 20 mile leg, with 20% single track. We have had some 4 person teams where one runner did two legs. This works, too! The Riverlands 100 is a trail race put on by experienced trail runners for people who like to push their limits. Come join us!

Aid stations are at each end of the out and back and another near the middle. Drop bags may be left at each aid station. Check out our website for more detailed information. Also be sure to like our FaceBook page; there are lots of updates and we welcome each registrant!.

Wait List

We have a wait list for THE SOLO RACE ONLY in anticipation of filling early! If you have to drop after registering, we will refund your money IF we are able to fill your spot from the wait list. There will be no changes to the roster after April 22nd, so no refunds/entries after that date. As always, no transfers or deferrals. You have 48 hours to accept or decline once we invite you to the race. If you do not respond in that time, you will be removed from the list and we will invite the next runner. For more details about the waitlist, go to our website www.riverlands100.com

Pre and Post Race Meals

We invite all runners to have a pasta dinner on us! You may purchase extra meals for crew/pacers on our website (https://www.riverlands100.com/pre-and-post-race-meals.html).. We will also have a post-race brunch. Runners are free, but again you may purchase extra meals on our website. Since we need a headcount, you will need to go to the website to indicate your are joining for one or both meals even if you are not buying extra meals. Both meals will be at Martin Stream Campground (packet pickup location).
